In my work place we have policies and procedures on equality, diversity and discrimination. These are rights that aren’t protected by the law, but they are enforceable within the social care system and designed to improve the quality of the services we offer to the service users. Each county of the UK has there own body that is responsible for inspecting all the social care facilities to make sure that they are complying with the national minimum standards. The CQC, The Human Rights Act 1998, The Equality Act 2010, The Care Standards Act 2008, Health and Safety at Work Act.
